Explore LB was held on Thursday April 14 from 5-7pm at the Albany Campus.

Faculty and staff who represent Linn-Benton's top programs in Healthcare, Agriculture, Business, Applied Industrial Technology, Arts & Humanities, Education & Social Services, and Science & Engineering set up displays where students could interact and get information. Interactive display tables, banners, and most importantly candy, made getting to know these programs fun and interesting. 

Advisors and support staff were available to answer student questions about resources available such as financial aid, accommodations, tutoring, dual enrollment with OSU, and more. One of those representatives was Julie Hessel, an Accommodation Specialist in the Center for Accessibility Resources. She was able to chat with current and prospective students about resources available on campus.  

Student ambassadors and Student Life & Leadership representatives shared about getting involved on campus, including how to be part of our many Clubs and Co-Curricular groups. Rocky the Roadrunner joined Student Leadership representatives Rachel Biscoe and Kaydence Strait to show some school spirit and get students involved.

Cheyanne Rider with the Civil Discourse Program encouraged students to participate in a white board discussion. The question to answer was: "What is better, online of in-person classes?" Zeph Portukalian stopped by to weigh in. 

Admissions staff were also on hand to help prospective students apply for the Fall term. Those who attended the event and enrolled were awarded a free 1-credit tuition waiver.

My name is Alicen, and I'm returning to college after staying home with my kids for the last decade. They are 15 and 18, and I homeschooled them both up through 8th grade. Now that they both attend public high school, I have time to devote to starting a new career. I am working towards an AAS in Graphic Design at LBCC. I took an  entrepreneurship  business  class last year, but I want to learn more about marketing. I will likely work as a freelance graphic designer or start my own business once I get my degree, so any information I can gather before then   would help me there.  I love to paint and draw, especially watercolor. I've taught myself with YouTube videos and trial and error. I loved the photography class I took last year, and I just got a Nikon Z5 for my birthday. Lexus Partners with Marvel's Eternals

This article on PR Newswire caught my eye because my family and I are big Marvel fans. We’re contemplating a group costume for Halloween, so ideas are welcome. I don’t want to paint myself green, or Gamora would be my first pick. Here’s the lowdown: Lexus has partnered with Marvel Studios in their new ad campaign. The Marvel film Eternals will open on November 5, and fans get an early look at one of the characters, a superhero named Kingo, in the two minute piece titled Parking Spot . Although the commercial features a superhero, he grapples with a very human problem. Kingo, played by Kumail Nanjiani, is searching for a safe place to park his new Lexus, although most of us don’t face this task while the serpentining through a war zone. In the article, Vinay Shahani, Lexus vice president of marketing, is quoted saying, "There's a natural synergy between Marvel Studios and Lexus. Betty Jones celebrating her 94th birthday at the Albany Historic Carousel & Museum. Her daughter JoAnne is in the background watching the carousel wiz past.
